The Visitor Information Center located at 247 W. Main Street and is the gateway to historic Old Town Lewisville.

COVID-19 Update:

The Center will reopen to the public on Monday, June 15.

As we begin the process of carefully reopening the facility, we remain vigilant in the health and well-being of our visitors and staff, and we will be implementing new protocols with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Among these new protocols, visitors will be required to have their temperatures screened upon entering the facility. Face coverings or masks are encouraged.

June 15 - June 29:
  • Building is open to the public, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Staff and visitors will be required to have their temperatures screened upon entering the building.
  • Visitor Information Center staff will gathering information on local attractions, hotels and restaurants as requested.
June 30 – Ongoing:
  • Building is open to the public, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Staff and visitors are required to have their temperatures screened upon entering the building.
  • Safety Protocols and Restrictions:
    • Visitors experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, are asked to stay home.
    • Visitors will receive a temperature check in accordance with City policy. These contactless temperature checks will be facilitated by Visitor Information staff. Any person found to have a temperature greater than 100.4 will not be permitted further into the building.
    • Visitors are encouraged to wear facial coverings while in the building.
    • Hand sanitizing stations will be available in the lobby.
    • Sanitization of common areas will continue throughout the duration of each event.
    • Social distancing of at least 6 feet is encouraged.
    • A maximum of eight (8) visitors will be allowed in the Center at one time.

     

    Unique to the Lewisville Visitor Information Center are three museum rooms. These rooms highlight Lewisville’s Deep Roots, Arts & Culture, and the Fighting Farmers of Lewisville High School. Visitors will get to see artifacts from some of the biggest events that helped shape the early years of the city, along with more recent events.

    As Thick as Water – The Story of Lewisville Lake 

    1952 Lake construction photo 2The exhibit is a collaborative effort by the City of Lewisville and Denton County History and Culture. It chronicles major events from the creation of the lake though present-day uses and features historic photos, maps, little known facts, and newspaper articles detailing the creation of the lake.

    Visitors can also pick up flyers, brochures, and maps to help familiarize themselves with attractions, restaurants, and hotels in Lewisville and Southern Denton County

    The Visitor Information Center is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
