Wildlife Nature Preserve

Kayak Enjoy one or two day adventures in Lewisville's Wildlife Preserve along the Trinity River by exploring Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA).

This beautiful nature area contains a variety of habitats, including prairies, bottomland hardwood forests, wetlands, and cross timbers forest. This preserve offers a diversity of wildlife from deer, bobcats, to avian species including falcons, eagles, wild turkeys and dozens of other exotic birds. Activities include canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing and camping along the Trinity River.

Lewisville Lake offers 29,000 acres of recreational activities including fishing, boating and swimming. Playing host to a variety of tournaments each year, the lake is large enough to accommodate a variety of water sports from water skiing, jet skiing, sailing and sail boarding. Along the 233 miles of shoreline you will find a wonderful beaches, boat ramps and plenty of picnic and camping areas.
