Lecture Series: Changing Weather, Changing Gardens

Join the Friends of LLELA for the 4th Saturday Lecture Series: Changing Weather, Changing Gardens!

In his engaging presentation,  Jeff Ray dives into the surprising shifts in our weather patterns, from warmer winters and sizzling summers to more intense rainstorms. With real data, lively stories, and a dash of humor, he’ll explore what these seasonal changes mean for everything from our gardens to local wildlife. Jeff also shares tips on how we can adapt, protect our environment, and enjoy North Texas’s evolving seasons. Get ready for a fascinating look at how climate impacts our daily lives!

Jeff joined CBS 11 and TXA 21 in December 2010. He is the senior meteorologist on staff and can be seen Monday through Friday on CBS News Texas at 4 p.m. on KTVT and at 7 p.m. on KTXA.

Born in Lubbock, Jeff spent most of his childhood in Tennessee. He holds a degree in communications from the University of Texas at Austin as well as a bachelor’s degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State. His master’s degree in science education comes from the University of Missouri.

Jeff’s broadcast career spans over 40 years and retires this summer. Jeff and his wife Fawn (a chiropractor in Colleyville) have two sons. The oldest served in Alaska on the USCGC Alex Haley in the Bering Sea and is pursuing a career as a tug boat operator in Galveston. The youngest is entering the Coast Guard this summer to enter the aviation program.

Cost: Free with paid $5 per vehicle entry to LLELA.

The lecture will be held in the LLELA Classroom off of the Blackjack Trail. Space is very limited so registration is required through the Friends of LLELA website.
