Songwriting Workshop with Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines

  • Date: April 18, 2026 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Location: Lewisville Grand Theater
    100 N. Charles
    Lewisville, Texas 75057
  • Introduction: 14th Annual Lewisville Grand Songwriting Workshop

Terri Hendrix with Lloyd Maines will lead the 14th Annual Lewisville Grand Theater Songwriting Workshop.

Terri Hendrix has operated her own independent record label, Wilory Records, since 1996 — releasing her entire catalog directly to listeners through her website and online store. Her music has been featured in independent films, commercials, and other media, and she is widely recognized as a pioneer of the modern independent artist model.

For more than 25 years, Hendrix has led signature “Life’s a Song” workshops, with producer and Austin City Limits Hall of Fame inductee Lloyd Maines.

Together, Hendrix and Maines offer a comprehensive, all-inclusive creative experience designed for everyone from first-time songwriters to actively touring musicians.

Participants can expect candid, practical conversations about sustaining an independent music career in the digital age, alongside in-depth sessions on songwriting craft, production, and performance. Downloadable resources are provided, including music business tools, alternate tunings, rhyme and near-rhyme guides, and songwriting structure materials.

The day is intentionally divided between:

“The Part That Ain’t Art” — navigating the business of music

“The Part That’s Art” — creative approaches to songwriting and production

Workshops are presented in an interactive, Q&A-driven format. Attendees are encouraged to bring instruments, notebooks, and curiosity. Dedicated time is structured for participants to share original songs with the group.

Each experience is designed to equip, inspire, and empower artists at every stage of their musical journey.

Participation in this workshop is limited to 20 people.
