Black Box Songwriter Concert Series featuring Tom Faulkner & Beth Wood

Tom Faulkner & Beth Wood kickoff 2018-19 Black Box Songwriter Series

Accomplished musicians Tom Faulkner and Beth Wood share the stage for an intimate performance to kick off the 2018-19 Black Box Songwriter Series, Sunday, Nov. 18, 6:30 p.m., Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

Faulkner’s songs arose, in part, from the memories of his travels over the backroads of the Southwest and Mexico. His unique blend of Texas rock, blues, Cajun, and Tejano music is an inspired heartfelt expression of his life experiences, coupled with some of those memories. New listeners around the world continue to discover the timeless music found in Faulkner albums, Lost In The Land Of Texico, and Raise The Roof.

Wood is an award-winning songwriter, a modern-day troubadour, and believer in the power of song. Her exceptional musicianship, crafty songwriting, powerhouse voice, and commanding stage presence have won her accolades from the Kerrville New Folk, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, Telluride Troubadour Contest, and more. She will release her 11th independent album this Fall.

The Black Box Songwriter Concert Series is produced by the City of Lewisville and features performing singer/songwriters in an intimate, listening room setting. The series has attracted a variety of celebrated songwriters, such as Susan Gibson (“Wide Open Spaces” - Dixie Chicks), Walt Wilkins (“Trains I Missed,” “Seven Hillsides” - Ricky Skaggs), Ronny Cox, and numerous Kerrville Folk Festival Finalists. If you want to hear the stories behind some great songs sung by those who wrote them, the Black Box Songwriter Series is for you.
